Summer at Egge MuseumKilde:
The open-air museum will be open every day from 21. June to 16. August 11 - 16.
Our talented summer guides and hosts give you an insight into what it was like to live on a medium sized farm in the latter half of the 19th century.
We have many activities and demonstrations going on. For example, baking, crafts or miscellaneous farm work done in the old way. You can be involved if you want to and can participate and try it for yourself. We also have several permanent and changing exhibitions at the museum that you can experience either on your own or together with one of our summer hosts.
The exhibition hall which has been closed for a few years due to renovation will also be open, with new exhibitions and great facilities for our guests, including the exhibition TRACTOR!
12 noon and14.00: Fun storytelling session for children.
We have an open kiosk in the exhibition hall with ice cream, soft drinks, coffee and the city's best waffles, and a very child-friendly outdoor area. In the season there are pigs, sheep, chickens and rabbits out in the yard, and a well-equipped sandbox for the little ones.
You may also encounter a bunch of "Gammeldagsonga" every weekday at the museum. These are pre-registered children between the ages of 7-11 who live the way children did about 100 years ago. They do farm work, play, cook and create a mood in the museum.
