Julestemning (Christmas spirit) at BjerkemKilde: Innherred reiseliv AS
"Julestemning" (The Christmas spirit) is a charming Christmas show that has been shown to packed houses in Mid-Norway since its premiere in 1990. The play has since grown to establish itself as an equally integral part of the Christmas preparations, like hanging up Christmas sheaves, and to decorate the Christmas tree, for thousands of happy families. On Gammellavin at Bjerkem in Steinkjer, "nissene" feels at home. A warm and evocative pre-Christmas experience.
"Julestemning" is a story about two children, who, during a walk in the woods encounter three different "nisser" (gnomes), it's Forest Claus, North Pole Claus and Barn gnome. The gnomes also meet each other and end up fighting over who's the real Father Christmas. It turns out that they are all legitimate gnomes, and they agreed to go to the farm where the Barn gnome lives. It is also the farm where the two children live. The plot is what we associate with traditional Norwegian Christmas; preparing gifts, porridge, looking for Father Chrismas, and in addition there are many new nice Christmas songs.
