With its long coastline and many bays and inlets, Innherred have several lovely beaches. Find information about six of these beutiful beaches.
The City Beach in Steinkjer
Location: The Beach is practically in the city centre of Steinkjer, along the E6. From the tourist office follow the E6 North about 300 m and cross the bridge. Parking by the petrol station.
Facilities: New Beach With a water trampoline, vanntrampoline, fine sand, BBQ area and benches. Close to shops, kiosk and parking. Within walking distance from everything in Steinkjer city centre.
Location: The beach is just south of the Straumen town centre, just a stone throw away from Strømnes. There is a pedestrian – and bike path from Straumen and all around Sundsand. Cross the Straumen bridge (from the town centre) and take the 2nd road to the right; Sundssandvegen.
Facilities: Sundssand is a beautiful shallow beach with fine sand surrounded by lawn areas. There is a kiosk, sanitary facilities accessible to the disabled, play area, BBQ areas and 3 beach volley ball courts.
Paradisbukta (Paradise Bay)
Location: 5 km north-west of steinkjer city centre Close to Søndre Egge. Follow Bogavegen (straight ahead all the way) west from the second roundabout after crossing the bridge on E6 through Steinkjer.
Facilities: Paradisbukta is a beautiful Beach and recreatonal area close to the city centre. The Beach is facilitated With BBQ areas, seating areas, sanitary facilities and parking.It’s a shallow Beach With grassy slopes, rock faces and numerous small coves and bays.

Location: The beach is about 4 km North of Levanger, right on the border between Verdal and Levanger, just a short detour off E6.
Facilities: Rinnleiret is a Conservation area whith a several km long sandy and very shallow beach. Perfect fot little ones to enjoy themselves With sand and water in a safe environment. The area is facilitated With toilets and parking.
Location: The Beach is located by the Trønderhallen and Kjærlighetsstien (the love trail), which its a 1,4 km long trail.
Facilities: BBQ area With benches, tables and barbeques facilitated for the handicapped/disabled. Fabulous view towards Ytterøy and Inderøy and is Perfect for fun and games. The beach is sunny but still sheltered. Near to Trønderhallen with swimmingpool, sports – and multi purpose hall, climbing walls and cafe.
Location: Around 15km South of Snåsa town centre, by Lake Snåsavannet
Facilities: A shallow Beach suitable for small children. Large parking area With sanitary facilities. Short path to the beach which has been facilitated for the wheelchair users. In the grove behind the Beach there is a BBQ area with benches and a barbeque.
