The hike starts at the car park at Lake Lustadvatnet. From there you walk on marked path of railway sleepers to the geographical centre of Norway.

It is 10 km one way and well suited to wearing trainers. The total length is approx. 20 km. The hike takes you through varied Trøndelag mountain terrain and we can see the beautiful Skjækerfjella located in Blåfjella / Skjækerfjella National Park. The hike takes 2-3 hours.

When you reach the geographical centre, it’s great to have a bite to eat in the rustic shelter. You are free to use the firewood. After a long and good food break you can embark on the return journey. On the trip back will after a while get great views of Lake Lustadvatnet.

The path ascends slightly, but it’s in easy terrain. This hike is ideal as a day trip.
