If you arrive by car from the south of Levanger the first stop on the tour is Kortman’s Candle Factory. From 1 November to 23 December the entire barn is decorated for Christmas with Christmas tree and nisser (goblins/gnomes), and playing Christmas music. The factory outlet is bursting with candles and a large selection of candle plates, accessories and gift items. You can also sit down to enjoy the atmosphere with mulled wine and ginger biscuits. You are guaranteed to get in good Christmas spirit. At Kortman’s be sure to enjoy a meal in their Pick-up Diner, a retro American diner.

The Trehusbyen (Timber house city) Levanger is beautiful in the winter and you can park your car and stroll around the city centre. Visit the Gallery Fenka, a private gallery over three floors and 400 m2. The house is a former prison and gallery continues to captivate. If you are in Levanger on the 24. 26. November, make sure you attend the Christmas market in the town square. Cultural performances, festive stalls and delicious food and drinks. Many opportunities for great Christmas gifts.

At “Lille Chilli”, a cosy cafe shop, with lovely coffee and tasty temptations.The cafe is located close to Levanger City. Elsewhere in the city there are lovely shops like “Husfliden” and “Krisz me Zanz”.

Should you want a bit of culture, head to Levanger Museum with one of the county’s largest photo collections. They include a collection that depicts the meeting between Sami and Norwegian culture in the late 1800s.

At restaurant Backlund you can enjoy a good meal. They prepare delicious dishes like cooked catfish, crawfish, marinated venison, duck and other great dishes.

If you want to do some more shopping, you can make a stop at Magneten (shopping centre) on the way home. Magneten is located by the E6 and has some 90 shops. You’ll be sure to find Christmas gifts for the whole family.

On the way home you can visit Munkeby and Munkeby Mariakloster. The monks here are engaged in cheese production and Munkeby cheese is known as one of the best Norwegian cheeses. They have a self service shop outlet, open from kl. 09:00 to 19:00. Definitely worth having on the cheese platter for Christmas.
